Okay, so I picked up a World Series Baseball cab with GD Rom and all that good stuff already set up. It's pretty much perfect for what I paid for it, however the controls are analog rather than digital and I need some more buttons for it. I've got GGXX Accent Core, which is really a five button game, but I figure I may as well make it six to future proof it for CvS2.
I've got no problem making a new control panel for it, but frankly the wiring for this thing feels completely alien to me. What exactly do I need for this to go from a cab with analog controls, two buttons and a "bat mecha" thing for each player to being a traditional digital stick with six-buttons?
I've seen plenty of stuff online about making JAMMA machines take Naomi stuff, but I'm just wanting to change games. Would it be easier for me to just redo the whole thing as a JAMMA? There's at least more info available for it. I should still be able to have the VGA and Stereo sound if I do that with the Capcom I/O board, right?
I currently have a Capcom I/O board from another Naomi rig. I know Capcom I/O can't handle all the power from Naomi GD Rom, but would I be able to run two separate power supplies, one hooked to the I/O and everything else hooked up to the Sega power supply, and then just plug up the controls through JAMMA, the video through VGA and the sound through RCA?
I dunno, man, this whole thing is so confusing. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: JVS Naomi: World Series Baseball to six-button?
Hi there,
I only have experience with UK Naomi's, but changing to a six button set up on one of those is easy...
You see the I/O board on the bottom right of the 3rd pic? That has a digital loom that connects to the longer of the black connectors, and the joystick and button looms connect to that.
Any chance you could take a pic of what's under the control panel? (Cables and what they're connected to?) it would help to ascertain what you've already got in place
Cheers

Re: JVS Naomi: World Series Baseball to six-button?
I have the JP baseball panel, and I've converted a US panel to JP specs. It's one of the more complex looms.
your cab is equipped with the sega JVS i/o . there is a 60pin connector for all digital inputs , including cab inputs like coins, service, etc. The 26 pin connector is for analog , 2 analog sticks and bat controllers in your case. Your panel is using both these connectors ( most likely with some molex mate-n-lock connectors in between )
You'll want to
- take the panel out, sell it whatever
- yank the analog wiring out.
- cut those molex connectors where the panel use to hook into. you'll want to replace that with AMP UP connectors.
- you should have these wire left : button 1, 2, start, GND for player 1 and 2
- on the 60pin JST-RA, add wires for player 1 joystick directions & button 3,4,5,6 , player 2 joystick directions & button 3,4,5,6
see pinout http://triplemoonstar.brinkster.net/the ... ockid=1718" ( thx Andy )
- terminate those wires into your 3 amp female connectors ( P1 , P2, extra buttons )

Once you've done this, you'll be able to throw in any blast/astro/naomi/net city panel that's loom'd up for JP specs.
hope this helps !
