What's wrong with this picture? (wiring help)

Post by dmauro »

Here's the plan for the setup: two Astro City cabs that can connect to a PC, Dreamcast, PS2, or JAMMA PCB. One Astro is a single player cab with a low res monitor, and the other is a two player cab with a tri-sync monitor. Does this wiring diagram make sense then?

Image

The PS2 will be connecting with the Ultimarc video adapter with video amp (with the screw terminals wired up to a VGA plug), the Dreamcast will connect with a VGA Box modded to do 15 or 31KHz and using Total Control Plus adapters for the PS2 controls, the PC will connect with VGA (soft-15KHz installed) and use a PS2->USB converter for controls). All audio will go through the stereo amp.

Is anything here completely wrong?

Another question: could I just get a VGA splitter to send the same video to both cabs? Do I need a special splitter that boosts the signal so that it doesn't degrade or how does that work?

Oops, I mean Yes to the first post, and Yes to being able to just use a Y-cable.

Okay, I'm assuming you meant yes to "does this diagram make sense" and not yes to "is there anything completely wrong?"
