Vewlix questions

Post by cRacKh0rN »

Considering selling most my boards and machine and getting a Vewlix with a hefty PC / Mame setup.

Which is the best model?
Do they run 1080p?
How easy is it to hook up an Xbox 360?

Any caveats or negatives apart from the lack of 15k?

I think the f accepts 1080p but its down scaled to 720.

Piece of **** to install a 360. Some pad hacks, a VGA gender bender and rca to phono adaptar and your done.

I'm going to sell mine if you are interested.

F. I'm not 100% on the differences, but different copour scheme, led marquee, florescent move strip light and better / faster screen over the L

The capcom, C version is an L with the type F screen, I think.

No clue on the later models.

where do you get this idea ? :wtf:

it`s native Resolution is 1366 x 768 , it will up-scale 720p and 480p , but thats it. No 1080p and no interlace signals

the japanese L Screen has higher contrast but is a Little slower, but far away from noticeable lag.

No idea about the Chinese Vewlix with glossy Screen.

Be aware of the chinese clones and of the modded ones to look like a C.

I don't profess to be an expert ladies. Keep your knickers on.

Isn't there some issue with hdcp with one of the screens too? That hdfury thing?

So the C has the florourcent move strip and led marquee?

I've played on an L and F and other than the lights and colours scheme there wasn't much in it IMO. The screen looked / felt no different to me, but I knew it had been quoted as being slower.

It a massive PC case, with a massive low spec PC in it. Fans are part of the package :)

The real offender is the one at the back. Unplug it and it's fine.

Although it'd probably be wise to use cool running electronics where possible, like the newer Xbox 360 model.

Yes it does, it has EEFL florourcent move strip, the led marquee, the chrome coin entry, the three power supplys, the front legs F style, the front and back power button.... and in addition it has the Capcom improvements as the red side parts, capcom control panel or RFID card reader. In fact the Vewlix C has its own manual by both Taito and Capcom. I think I can scan it to upload to AO.

I think the L is HDCP compliant but the F isn't. I had to use an HD Fury to run a PS3 in my C which has the Sanwa monitor, otherwise there was just a black screen.

Yep, as far as I'm aware and can tell it's just an F with different plastics, a Capcom CP and a card reader. I think in hindsight I prefer the colour scheme of the F though.

According to the Vewlix Parts Catalogs:

Vewlix C: M1100080A = TA32H07SF-C
Vewlix F: M1100068B = T32H07S(KA)

Unfortunatle I got the vewlix F catalog online and I am not really sure if it belongs to an F model. I believe it does because the catalog describes both the marquee and CP lights.

That picture looks like a clone to me. For instance, the real ones have differences on the control panel (the place where you keep the ashtray and the coin slot) and the front legs are also different.

This is the only reference I could find on the monitor itself without removing it. It has a Sanwa remote board. I've not looked at the monitor PSU PCB though.

They say Vewlix L on the header but the Taito name is not mentioned anywhere... I have emailed them to ask.
There is one one Coinopexpress that looks pretty close to it http://www.coinopexpress.com/products/m ... _7872.html"

They also said country China. The front legs and the control panel (100 yen and astray places) don't look original to me.

The main issue of a clone vewlix are the inner parts: power supplies, i/o boards, sound amp...
