Quality! :awe:

Table updated. I haven't played in ages, I'm posting my PCB out on loan this week, but I'll put some time into it when I get it back because I'm sure I can get a fair bit better. :)

I received a request to split the table up by character so I've done it. :)

This might give me an incentive to play the port, here's my old best score for Rosa (which is over 2 years old, shameful), although I need to rinse DDP DFK arrange first :P

Do you know not to bomb jitterbug no matter what?

He drops a 2up if you manage not to bomb. You can use the power mode if you reserve skulls as a panic bulet cancel ;)

After several hundred years, I tated the Egret and started to play this.
I am around 50mil at the final boss with Rosa :shh: What is the trick to good scores?
Do you have to keep your ring gauge at 1000 and only use it rarely or vice versa?

Tips appreciated! I have read the guide on shmups and seem to be doing most the stuff mentioned, with the exception of letting large crowns drop to the floor.

What he said^

Hold on to 1,000 skulls & cash in on them at certain points throughout the stage.

Jump onto youtube / DL a replay from XBL for:

Graveyard (you want to activate at the first hill (the one that goes 2/3 up the screen with the crows on the trees. By the time you get to the big house, just tap away at the stuff coming out the chimney without blowing up the house.

Jungle: The big floating islands drop massive amounts of sculls when killed with A+B. Activate power up when the 3 big islands are coming from the left (1/2 way through the level)

Volcano: activate power mode on the second section, after all the little green guys emerge from the right (15 seconds into the level?) you then move all the way into the openings with the large boulders flying out (when in power mode only bullets kill you) sit in there, if you are on the left face right so your bullets hit all the boulders & enemies & vica-a-versa for stuff on the right.

Those 3 levels should net you 40-60m on their own.

Yeap, I remember learning that table showing which shot to use for each enemy made a difference to my score. Most of the scoring is done in fever mode. When you're in power up mode and your +counter hits 10,000 you go into fever mode. So the key to scoring well is finding the power up activation point which gets you into fever mode quickest. I hope that makes sense, I'm not sure it did after reading it back.

Thanks for all the tips fellas.
EOJ's guide is very good as it shows the A+B enemies. Do you all do a lot of A+B with Rosa? She is pretty tricky to use with lock shot imo. I find myself turning away from the enemy to do the lock shot. Is it even worth it on the level 1 bears?

Regarding fever mode, do you get an extra life bar when this has been achieved? Any other indicators?

Yes, but now I automatically face the wrong way when using lock shot :palm: I'm trying to play with folleta now, but its so different

Na, the counter, when you collect skulls, will be 10,000 & every enemy drops Crowns (which you leave to break up into skulls & slow the game to a crawl :awe:)

Aha, Rosa can only lock onto enemies behind her. Like Mark, I got into the habit of turning away before locking on. :awe:

Did I just unlock death mode?
I went for highest difficulty on the first 5 levels and then on level 6 everything was leaving red and yellow stars that you kill with the option.

Incidentally, on the player select, you have 2 options when you select a girl. What are these?

[EDIT] ^^
It just lets you choose whether you want to see the demonstration or not before you start playing. Top option is "see the demonstration", bottom option is "skip it". (EOJ on cave-stg
[/EDIT]

I really like this game. It is very satisfying when the screen is filled with crowns and skulls and everything slows down :)
