Managed to unlock the Secret Diamond room today, Words can not express just how **** hard it is to get the secret door, You have to get the 7 Diamons in order from left to right before the door will appear in the boss room, If you don't get them in order you just get an extra man and a diamond when you kill the boss
You have to kill the baddies by collapsing rainbows to get diamonds and where the baddie lands when they die determines what color gem they leave, The screen has an invisible vertical color scheme, The far left being red and the far right being violet .

The secret code below is a way to enable cheats at the title screen by moving the joystick and pressing the relevant keys.Each secret room has a different code and ability permanent speed e.c.t

Just got to level 20 and although amazingly didn't beat my old score, I made it to the wacky Arkanoid world

Bring it I'm getting better all the time, It's such an addictive shooter, Deceivingly rock hard though, I used to play loads of flying shark but I think I like this more .

I can get to the secret rooms on the first three islands, but the fourth... no, not quite yet. My highest score is about 2,100,000 points. Mind you, I mostly play the PCB now, rather than in MAME.

There's a replay I downloaded of it where a guy gets all diamonds, and finishes the game. It's incredible.

Yeah some times I have a great game where I've got 5 or more lives then I just die and die
That's great going getting 3 secret rooms in a row getting one I found bloody hard, And I haven't been arsed to do it again

Had a go just now on MAME, it's been a long time since I played it, so I didn't do too well.
1918460 points. Got the first three diamonds ok, then lost everything on Round 13.

I recorded an inp file for MAME if you want it. It'll give you a good idea of what to do from someone who's a normal player and not an expert. Remember, getting into the secret room and picking up both the extra diamopnd and special power gives you 200,000 points.

Nice, Yeah I can't be arsed to get the diamons in order it's too much of a ball ache, Round 13 unlucky for some lol, is that monster island, That can be a bitch some times

Round 13 is the first Toy Island round, where the balls etc bounce around unpredictably. The spinning discs are predictable, I think that the best thing is to get the Red and Orange diamonds there. On the first three islands I usually get all seven in a row on the first two levels.

Just watched the Ben Shinobi super play of this after reading this thread. Probably best not to watch if you don't want to spoil the game for yourself but the second half is like

Yes, that's the one I've downloaded and watched a few times. It's astonishing. One diamond collected accidentaly, and the run is over. He doesn't miss it a single time.

I all of a sudden feel really proud of the fact i spent 12 years of my life practicing the game to get this:

Default settings i THINK the extra life settings may be different so i got more but i didnt lose a single guy... annoyingly its so amazingly easy to screw up, you cant even die to reset your diamonds, mess one up you start back from the beginning, by the time you get to the 3rd/4th island and you get permanent powerups (from secrets) it does get easier and you stop thinking about getting the diamonds and concentrate on surviving.

Oh also you CAN damage bosses/kill some bosses if you're quick and lucky and get inside the secret room all in one go, thats how i got my score so much higher than on the super play despite the fact i dont spend hours firing rainbows to get hidden items, if he did the same thing i did his score would have been well over 70 million...

Then you get to the last world and its comes down 100% to luck... ive only hit that score once and ive no intention of doing it again. Only played the game once or twice since on a broken joystick talk about bittersweet!

Never tried the new version though, is it harder or just redesigned?

Its just a shame its almost impossible to be that consistent on the game And if i miss a diamond now i instinctively start again from the beginning even if im in an arcade and paid for it >_> Old habits die hard

Just now I've finally managed to get the diamond on the fourth stage (the wings) and I ended up dying on Round 24 with a score of 2971260. Before today, without picking up those wings, I've never been able to get past the fifth stage.
