A bit late to the party Just started playing this one. How do you get the life on level 3?

Thanks mate, i think i was doing that... Do you have to be in Kakusei mode when you destryo what is around it?

Just centre yourself on the screen and go into Kakusei, it takes quite a lot of damage to release the life. You don't need to destroy anything else to get it

I usually switch over to Kakusei, hit the barrier button for a quick burst that set's the 1UP free, then I change back from Kakusei.
