CPS 1.5 battery replacement

Post by MetalSluggist »

Can anyone tell me how I replace the battery on this board? I know how to change the battery for CPS2 boards, but i did not find any tutorial for CPS 1.5.

Can you show a photo of the battery?
My 15kHz cabinet Peplos will never power up, with any item, and I am quite proud of that.

There's two, one on the C board for the B-21 PPU, an CR2032 with leads.

The D board (QSound) has a half size AA axial lithium battery, identical to the one CPS2 uses.

Is it necessary to install a second battery for the working progress to save the data?

It has no capacitors to hold charge (different than CPS2) so disconnecting the battery without putting another battery in parallel will kill it.

Watch videos on CPS3 battery replacement. That will give you a idea how the process works.

3V.

For CPS-B-21 it's a CR2032 with soldering tabs.

For the sound CPU (Kabuki) it's the same battery as the CPS2.

both are 3v

It's called "Half AA", right? And indeed... 3.6v ...
