MVS 4 Slot (Metal Slug 1 weirdness)
Today I spent the whole day cleaning the inside of my cab. When I put everything back together and turned it on slug 1 looks like this:
It doesn't happen on my 1 slot (so the cart is ok I think). Has anyone seen this before? If I occupy the same slot with another cart, it plays fine.

Admittedly, nothomj wrote:Checked the 5V?
I don't have a voltmeter. I have one of these though:
Would that be bad for MVS wiring?
The thing is, I didn't touch the voltage during the clean up.

Looks like something enabled debug flags on the game. You have universe bios installed on your board?

Yep definitely debug output. Are there dip switches on the base board for that?

I played past level 1 and the numbers disappeared. Very strange. Could it be the battery? All debug was disabled by default.

I assume you did the usual Neo Geo dance - clean contacts, cart goes in, wiggle cart out a bit, stand on one leg and say the magic word etc.
I'd also reseat the bios chip.

Very LOL but also very true.
My 15kHz cabinet Peplos will never power up, with any item, and I am quite proud of that.

You can also clear the RAM either through the test menu or by flipping all dips on.

On Universe BIOS, debug dip switches are software based. You toggle them by messing around at a specific function within the cheats menu.Flinnster wrote:Yep definitely debug output. Are there dip switches on the base board for that?
If you have a memory card plugged in they might become persistent. Check the debug dip switch settings within that game at the cheats menu.
