Do CPS3 simms work with CPS2?

Do the CPS3 simm memory modules work with the black all in one CPS2 games? I wasn't able to find a clear answer. I'm trying to get a Hyper SF2 phoenixed and the CPS2 simm looks to be lost in the mail.
