JVS PCB gives I/O error

Post by PascalP »

So I have a Tekken 3 PCB which gives an error when connected via JVS.
If I connect the pcb via Jamma it works fine!

I also have another Tekken 3 board, if I connect this to my cab via JVS it works fine, so the problem should not be my cab (Namco Cyberlead)

This is the error screen I get:

I did notice the 2 pcb's are different revisions:
- TET 3 Rev A is on the working board
- TET 2 Rev E is on the non-working board

Small bump!

Got another Namco System 12 board which gives the same error in my Cyberlead now... (Soul Caliber)
Should be some fix available, right?

You using a loopback cable with the JVS I/O? You need to connect pins 1 & 3.

Sorry, this doesn't mean anything to me...?

The I/O board is connected to the game PCB with a standard USB cable, if that helps?

Got some more JVS stuff to test:
- Sega Naomi, works
- Namco System 246 and 256, both throw a I/O mismatch error...

My guess would be that the later revision Namco boards would expect a later revision I/O and Display with colours...?

Not sure what the problem is either but I have 4 cyber leads and it only does that in 1 out of 4 cabinets. No setting different.. not sure why it does it I cannot find any difference in settings between them.. maybe it's a version compatibility problem? The one that it doesn't work in I'm fairly sure I've replaced the I/O before..

He,
Would be cool to have 4 Cyberleads!!

Could you do a test and see which versions the I/O boards and display are in your cabs.
This would help a lot to identify the issue :)

This is the version of my I/O board (1.03)

And this is the version of my display (1.02), red color only
