I really hated the Asia no cd version. The missing sounds annoyed the life out of me, but it looks like I'll be going back to it :(

I had a US version & Capcom Japan take nothing to do with non-japanese carts :(

I wonder why excellent can reseructed to Asia but no other region?

I have been contacting both CAPCOM U.S. and JPN from last month about how to get repair service on U.S. carts, and finally got "final answer" last week from JPN.

CAPCOM U.S.>Let JPN repair any suicided/dead U.S. CPS2/3s from now on, if they permit it.
CAPCOM JPN >No service for exports.

This means, U.S. carts just has to suffer, nowhere to get repaired. I understand why from their point of view, but just shame :(
ASIA is the only way for any exports to survive :|

CAPCOM JP accepts all JP ver.repairs not only from domestic operators but also directly from domestic pesonal users too.

But they will not accept their regional products from outside JPN, since warranty is only valid in JPN.
All products has regional rights and warranties that each manufactures sets, and CAPCOM JP only needs to handle their own regional products from domestic users. That's why exporters act as middleman here, and you need to go through them in order to have any repaired. Following to this rule, CAPCOM JP will be repairing their products not from you but from exporter. One must concern about warranty rule/issue first. CAPCOM JP do not have to repair their stuff from outside jpn, but doing more than enough just accepting repairs from outside JPN in this way, I believe.

I wouldn't mind so much if it were like CPS2 but the battery on my last cart lasted 1.5-2 years tops :( I've got 8 + year old CPS2 batteries & the carts are still running.

They need to figure out how to phoenix (or equvalent) CPS3. I know that will result in boots appearing, but as it stands a working US / EURO cart is going to be a very very rare thing in the next 5-10 years.

At least we finally have emulation to preserve the game, but I want to play my original!

In life there are 3 certainties: birth, change, death. I pursue the second.
