Point Blank PCB high score/reset issue

I've just taken ownership of a nice condition Point Blank cab. Everything seems fine with it but after every game when i lose all my lives and dont insert a coin to continue it resets. Is this normal, it seems like its sort of meant to do that as the reset is not all of a sudden, its just when the game is over it decides to reset/restart. Playing the game is fine and it never resets when I'm playing at all.
It never asks me to enter my initials for the high score even when I've got a pretty decent score(perhaps it resets before that stage?).

So, is there a setting i can change or a dip switch? I've already initialised the high scores in the service menu and its the same. And also its the same on free play and normal coin play.
Any advice is appreciated

Well I here a slight click and it goes back to the first screen you see on boot. There is an attract mode when its on normal play but not in free play. It runs fine for hours on attract without reboot.
Its an odd one for sure.
