Awesome way to play newer Arcade game cheap!
Last week I bought a JVS pac and it came today. Hooked the Ps3 up to the JVS Naomi cabinet and took a little trouble shooting with video and controls but got it going smoothly.
Currently enjoying Soul Calibur 4, Puzzle Fighter, Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection and Battle Fantasia on there and ONLINE. Definately a top notch product and one I would recommend to anyone who has a VGA/JVS cabinet. Now the wait for Street Fighter 4.

I have to vouch for this too. I bought a JVSPAC a while ago and have a PS3 hooked up to the Vewlix-F... The game play is awesome!
Strikers 1942 is great fun and Soul Caliber IV... Sweet!
I also picked up an HDFury HDMI converter to allow HDMI to be converted to DVI for use on the Vewlix.
Who else is using a JVSPAC?

I have got one ready for when the vewlix arrives. So do you connect the ps3 through hdmi-hdfury to dvi. Is it a better picture than straight vga.

Bit disappointed about the whole 16:9 only trend on PS3 (battle fantasia, sc iv, 1942), as I really like CRT for gaming and have no plans to shell out for a LCD cab.
Hoping sf4 and tekken6 will be 4:3 full screen capable, but not betting on it.

Porkpie: The image looks pretty much the same... The refresh is *mathematically* slower on the HDMI then VGA on max output but you can't tell unless you have CMOS Camera eyes
It looks sweet. Did you get the HDMI Fury or the Fury 2?

uhmm... could you please explain this ?The refresh is *mathematically* slower on the HDMI then VGA
its 60hz (aka 59,9xxx hz) via VGA and DVI/HDMI , why should it be slower ?
a HDFury is not nessesary for the vewlix , just get a HDMI/DVI adapter.

My NVidia card is sending a VGA signal (1360x760) at 70 Hertz to the Sanwa.
The HDMI signal is at 60 hertz.
What are you using to hook up your PS3?

ah ok , your talking about a pc.
if you hook up a ps3 , i would definitly go with the digital signal (HDMI).
i`m useing a HDMI cabel with DVI adapter, but a DVI cable with hdmi adapter will ofcourse work too.

Re: Awesome way to play newer Arcade game cheap!
Beware of this: I'm not sure if you're talking about a Type-X2 or anything, but most TFT monitors if you send them a signal that isn't 60Hz or 50Hz, will internally convert the scan rate to whatever the panel is running at, I've seen this with TFT monitors that claim to have sync range of 50-75Hz vertical, but are internally converting everything to 60Hz. You can verify what frequency the panel runs at internally by looking at the inversion pattern (if it doesn't work you might need to move the browser window one pixel down), and checking the rate of the inversion flicker. Depending on the brand and type of the panel you might need to try some of the other inversion patterns that are commonly used in TFT displays._xizor wrote:My NVidia card is sending a VGA signal (1360x760) at 70 Hertz to the Sanwa.
