A quick composite video question

Postby Porl » August 10th, 2016, 2:19 pm

Hi guys,

I've just acquired a nice looking JVC CRT broadcast monitor to hopefully play some retro games on. It's a JVC TM-1500 ps FYI. It's not an RGB one unfortunately, it runs through composite video ( from what I can tell ). It uses a BNC connector. I was wondering is it possible to wire up my supergun to display composite video? I wired the video out on it for RGB as of this wiring diagram

It show's pin P on the jamma edge as Composite video out, which if i remember correctly is used for the RGB Sync? Is it possible to tap from this wire and connect it up to a Phono jack so I can play composite video out of my Supergun through the JVC?

Any help would be awesome. It looks as though this would work from the diagram but I wanted to check with people with more experience etc before I started to play around too much with my Supergun.

thank you  :thumbupright:

It won't work, you need an RGB SCART to composite convertor.

Jrok's converter or anything else that uses a CXA2075 chip, as that's the highest quality encoder chip available.
