I picked up this case and built a supergun out of it this weekend
My first supergun, came out perfect! Didn't have any problems along the way, the giant case and the nice mounts made it easy as pie.
The final wiring ended up more neat than that

Jasen was great to work with and his cases are top notch. Very high quality and well designed. Obviously it's a rather large supergun, but that's one thing I like about it. Stack the CPS2 on top and not worry about a separate power supply.

If I did a supergun, it would incoorperate enough top space to rest the pcb on top of it!
I like the design!
Can you explain what parts you used?

Sure! The cases for the gun and the joysticks came from Jasen.ninn wrote: Can you explain what parts you used?
Power supply (Jasen designed the case with this one in mind): http://na.suzohapp.com/gaming_products/ ... 80-0210-00"
JROK encoder
generic JAMMA harness
DB15s for the controller ports (both ends, on the gun and joystick): http://www.winford.com/products/brksd15.php"
DB9 for the kick harness into the gun: http://www.winford.com/products/brksd9.php"
Neo Geo DB15 extension cables for the joystick cables
RCA jacks: http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDet ... 8-NYS367-6"
lil baby fans: http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDet ... 0205DX-K50"
power switch (backordered ): http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDet ... /Z0000/53B"
and Sanwa parts for the joysticks.
Those DB9 and DB15 connectors are pretty luxurious, but they sure made that part of the job way more pleasant.
And one JAMMA harness gives you enough wire to make about 20 superguns.

Yeah honestly this ended up being a pretty pricey setup. Way more than I anticipated. But in the end I'm very happy with it. It's built like a tank and the joysticks are killer. So I'd do it again.ninn wrote:man .. I really love that project box ... I wish I knew where to buy it for a reasonable price ...

City,
Glad you love the case and tanks!
As for the case... it's not a project box. All of my cases are completely designed in CAD and manufactured specifically for my site: http://www.jasenscustoms.com" I went the project box once and it was fine but made the build time far too long. These cases show up and the parts really do just fall in place.
As for all the guts, you can find a complete partlist: http://www.thesupergun.com" (this is my documentation blog). I have a lot of pictures and discussions on the stuff I built there as well.

I'm totally loving this, great work with the enclosure Jason! My DIY one was so messy and without enclosure but this really makes me want to build one again!
