FBANext / Retroarch on xbox360

Post by Milspex »

Any experienced users of either software packages on here? It seems like support has been dropped for both of these, and I was wondering about alternatives and/or some help

Might be able to hook you up with an updated version if you give me a while.

Cool I've been looking for a version where the sound works. Mine sounds distorted.

Would be appreciated!

Retroarch uses the same .28 core and the sound is fine there. Perhaps a FBANEXT.ini config issue?

Managed to get hold of Lantus who has said he'll build an updated version this weekend with the new games added. 8-)

Might be a config tweak in order to sort out the sound, but we'll look into that once the new build is ready; we'll see if that fixes it first.

Sorry for the delay. Lantus was dealing with some updates that had recently been committed to the source. The upshot is that, as I understand it, this version also has more games added:

I've not yet had the chance to test it for myself, but please me know how it performs for you. :)

hi there. thanks a lot

Tested it out just now but sound is not fixed yet. Tried fiddling with the ini file but no luck there either.

Could it be dash/kernel related ? sound is ok when I'm in the game select screen, but when a game runs it sounds distorted

Okay, is the problem with all games, or just certain games? If so, which games exhibit the problem? Is it literally just scratchy sound, or are you also getting graphical slowdown?

Could you also provide details about your 360's motherboard revision, dashboard/kernel version and which mod/glitch you're using?

Not sure this helps but I updated my xbox with this build (cheers for the link Ian - big thank you to Lantus). Don't have any sound issues at all.

Curious. CPS2, can you confirm your motherboard revision and dash/kernel version so we can compare with Milspex's?

For the record, I ran this on a Trinity devkit without any issues. I think I have a Falcon devkit somewhere on which I can test.

You need to create a new folder, the older version has an .ini file which is in a different folder.

I did the following:

Unzipped the content of the zip to a clean memory stick, copied the whole folder to my apps folder on my HDD (HDD1)
Copied the roms folder across from the previous build
Run from Dash.

You can edit the .ini file to point at your rom folder if you can be arsed (before you copy to xbox)
