Groovymame 0.149 - screen filter issue.
Bit of a problem guys. I downloaded the new Groovymame 0.149 but for some reason when I run it the games boot up with a blurry heavily filtered fast flickery picture. I'm currently running Groovymame 0.147 with no issues at all and it looks perfect without me having to alter anything. What do I need to do to fix this, I'm guessing its something really simple? Btw I'm using an Astro City with the CRT_Emudrivers and Jpac through Maximus arcade.
Cheers guys.

Re: Groovymame 0.149 - screen filter issue.
Thanks for the quick reply cools
In not sure, possibly. It's looks heavily processed through 15k, though. How would I turn it off or check? Is there a command I can put into the boot string on Maximus-Arcade? I don't see an .ini file or or anything in the Groovymame download I have.
I dl'd this one. http://code.google.com/p/groovyarcade/d ... z&can=2&q="
It's strange because 0.147 worked fine without me doing anything.
Cheers.

Re: Groovymame 0.149 - screen filter issue.
Excellent thanks cools. Ill try that as soon as I get home, sounds like that's what's wrong. It's strange why it's like that by default now? I thought groovyMame was primarily for 15k CRTs? It's strange why they would default it to a mode that looks terrible on them.

You can also check out the changelog for this 0.149 version, why did you do the update to begin with if the previous one worked a treat?

Hmm mine didn't come with a changelog. I can't seem to find one online either.baddy wrote:You can also check out the changelog for this 0.149 version, why did you do the update to begin with if the previous one worked a treat?
I'm updating it because I'm having an issue with TMNT, I'm trying to 1LC it. For some reason whatever rom I use I'm getting wwaayy to many enemies in 1player mode. I've seen footage online and there are way less enemies. For example on stage 1 on my roms (UK/USA/Japan) I get 28 enemies. But on youtube people are only getting 19/20. It's confusing the hell out of me. I thought I'd try and update my emulator and see if that has any effect.

I'm sure I saw a fix for TMNT make its way into the MAME changelog recently.

Ah really? Ill have to have a look at that.
I just tried -nohlsl. Is looks a bit better but I still get that very fast flickering effect as if the resolution is too high. It's so confusing.

Re: Groovymame 0.149 - screen filter issue.
You might have overwritten a settings file resulting in incorrect screen resolution setup.
I'd start fresh from scratch, meaning removing the ATI drivers with a registry cleanup and then the full groovymame/crt emudriver setup.
