8000 in 1 Mame pcb control problems

Post by neil2k1 »

Bought this a few weeks ago

Image

Initially used it with a supergun with no issues. Since installing it in my New Astro City I have managed to mess up the controls.
The board boots straight into a front end you can select what game you want via the joystick and buttons, all games boot up ok.
However when I'm trying to start any game (after adding credits) it won't register the 1p or 2p start buttons...
I have gone into general settings and assigned them to the correct buttons (1 and 2) I have also assigned the buttons in the game settings menu.
My one slot works fine all buttons etc work perfectly.

Any ideas how I can sort this guys?

Foxconn.. You bought a PC with 8500 Mame and other emulator games on it?
Ok.. so you might need to reconfigure the buttons in the Mame setup...

1.) Press Tab in-game and 2.) choose "Input: This Game".
3.) Select the input you want to configure, 4.) press enter followed by the key you want it mapped to.
Redo steps 3 & 4 for all buttons (ink up, dwn, lft, rgt) then go to END
END
Up the Irons!

Try chaining the GND and SWITCH GND on the JAMMA connector. This is a common problem with these multi-game systems. Easiest way is to make a small adapter with a fingerboard and a JAMMA female connector. I fixed this in my EGRET II by bridging 27 and 28 on the JAMMA directly, but an adapter is less intrusive.
