soft15khz problem - advice needed

Post by chubsta »

Anyone using soft15khz to run an arcade monitor?

I have used it previously and when i chose a very low resolution it switched to 15khz mode so when it was on a pc minitor the screen was garbled, and when i plugged it into a 15khz arcade monitor it was great.

i hve just put another mame system together but this time its not working right - i have installed soft15khz, and run it to get 15khz mode going. i then used 'quickres' to change the resolution, and although i am able to choose very low res (300x200 for example), it doesnt seem to be switching into 15khz mode - my pc monitor displays the picture fine.

i am unable to try with the arcade monitor at the moment because i dont yet have my jPac, so anyone got any ideas?

I've seen similar with a Radeon card in the past. It says it's switching, it's definitely in the right mode, but it's outputting a VGA type signal.

Very weird. This was on a laptop though.
