It's a PNG in the artwork folder. Use paint or something

So a proper dummy question, how do I get a rom to load :(

I have a couple of games in there the rom folder (C:MAME/roms) and I've used clrmamepro to patch them to 0154b (I think)

but I still get this message: "the selected game is missing one or more required Rom or CHD images"

Any ideas?

What games?

You might be missing a BIOS file, or have something genuinely missing from those games. Clrmame will tell you when you scan if the game is missing a file, but it won't if it's missing a BIOS.

If you run MAME from a command prompt with the set name it'll tell you what it's missing.

Or you can run it using the -verifyroms option to check the game without starting it.

e.g.
Start>Run>CMD>ok
CD c:\MAME
mame64 -verifyroms punisher

Thanks, I'll give it a go.

I tried the intermational DDP as it doesn't need any other files AFAIK

Good choice to start with, since the board doesn't have freeplay nor high score saving and the price has gone nuts.

Ha, and I own it :)

I'm using 88 games to test. As I'm using an lcd, can I change something to get rid of the resolution switching warning

Assume you mean the warning from the LCD itself? All I've seen have an OSD that lets you disable that.

Since you're just testing leave that as it is then - it should be "lcd" for a fixed frequency display but no biggy.

Also, re-read step 6 of the groovymame configuration part in the OP.

cools wrote:That'd be a nice addition to the wiki, but it's above dummies level :) A J-PAC or JammASD will protect the monitor sufficiently, although you do get garbage with the boot sequence on a 15k monitor
You can configure Windows XP to not show the boot screen, and depending on your motherboard, you might be able to replace the splash screen with a plain black image. I modified my bios to remove the splash screen, the Intel branding logo, and the "Press DEL to run Setup, Press TAB to display BIOS POST Message" text.

So when my cab boots, you only see a black screen, then a blinking cursor in the upper left corner for a few seconds. Also, booting from an SSD makes the whole boot process a lot shorter, which is nice.

Great tutorial cools, I'm using an cheap PC under XP x64 (such a pain to install, couldn't find x64 drivers for the sound card, had to use USB sound card).

I'm giving the 31k mode only a go has the 15k mode on my ms2931 is a bit rough on the eyes.

Back from my hols, and looking to build a nice setup for Groovy with an i5 4690k I got for my birthday.

Does anyone know if the later Radeon cards work at all with the crt emu drivers? I would like to buy a beefy GPU so I can dual boot XP64 / Win8.
Looking at the download page, no recent cards are listed, but I live in hope :)

Cheers cools.
I just checked for drivers for the motherboard and there are no drivers for XP (I was looking to build a mini-itx with the Asus Z97I-PLUS).

Are you chaps with i5's using XP?

[EDIT] Looking through 1150 board drivers, I can't find any that support XP :problem:
