Re: Blurriness Sega Blast City

You've got the same issue most of us Blast Owners have. corner convergence issues. A fix that doesnt involve messing with something that can really send your pic out of whack is using convergence stips.. like this vid demonstraits...

Re: Blast City MS-2930 cyan smear/glow problem

I literally just noticed the exact same problem on my Blasts 2930. Assuming I check out the caps and find a bad one (visually) is it worth doing all the caps at the same time? or just some to fix the issue?

Re: Anyone Know the Paint Code for Naomi

I used RAL 9002, and worked OK for me. It is better you use a real color guide against the frame rather than your monitor to choose the exact code. Take a door to the paint shop or ask to borrow their color catalog. Thanks, Stupidly enough I didn't even think oif taking a pannel off for someone to ...

Anyone Know the Paint Code for Naomi

Hi all, I've got a Naomi to bring back to glory (currently suffering fro surface rust and a lot of paint chips. Any idea what the Paint colour code for the metal parts is? Visually i'm guessing at RAL-9010 (pure White) but I've seen some threads mention RAL-9002 (Grey white) but, on my monitor... th...

Re: Tomorrow the big day!

Welcome to the blast City family :) So things you probabably ought to know. It's got TWO power switches AND a Kill switch. - One Switch on the back where you plug it in (obvious) - One switch inside the control panel - A kill switch at the top of the main door (where you put the game). If the door i...

Re: NAOMI 2 with GPU problem?

Most interesting. In my case the RAM is passing all tests... and I can still get it to work when pressing on the GPU block (held down.. working and full speed, not held down...... checkerboard and slow). Perhaps time to revisit the board (I still have it). Although I did drop it so I know how I brok...

Re: NAOMI 2 with GPU problem?

I know the issue here.. Becasue I actually had a working NAOMI 2 and then broke it EXACTLY like this. In my case I dropped it. NAOMI 2 / 1 GPUs are BGA sockets and they are really fragile after this many years. Most likley it's been dropped or knocked in transit. In my case it was GPU2 that de socke...

Re: Flicker-free ballast for Sega cabinets?

I used the one outlined here: https://retrogamingstuff.wordpress.com/2013/07/23/marquee-light-now-working-confirmed-390-5638-1e-fg-1e/ in my Blast and it doesn't flicker at all with a new balast / starter / glowlamp. It sucked beforehand and this fixed it. You can have flicker free gaming and keep i...

Re: Blast City Control Panel Removal/Dimensions

I've just moved myself. The CP can come out without hurting the monitor but it was far, FAR easier to move the cab by taking the monitor out and then the CP off. Two pwople can then move the thing on it's side (top tip, empty the coin box!) and you can get it through a 70CM doorway with a bit of wig...

Re: Sega Blast City Power cut-off issues

An elastic band wont be strong enough. Bassically it's as suggested, yuou either take it out of the cab or use a cable tie. Personally, I went for the cable tie as it means I've not modified anything from stock in a perminant way and I wont lose the switch! It's been running for 2.5 years with teh o...

Re: Vogatek IV scart question

So I had one of these (and it worked great). The two essentials are.... 1. do you have a fully wired 21-pin SCART Cable? 2. Is it plugged in to the SCART RGB socket on your TV. I only ask this as there's usually only ONE socket on the TV that takes RGB SCART (the rest take S-Video or composite siugn...

Time Crisis 5

Just played it and, you know what? It's pretty good. Certainly a lot better than 4 (feels like 3 pacing wise). IT's big, brash, has the gun switching mechanic still but it's still fun shooting stuff quickly. Quick Pro's: Left Right cover mechanic is fun Screens are awesome and massive It's got the r...
