Remote board pots

Pondering on a new project. Anyone (Grant? :awe: ) know the size (ohm) and type (linear/logarithmic) of pots generally used?

Re: Egret 3 chassis replacement

Great getting the schematic!

Not sure where to stick it, but at least it's on the wiki:

Re: Strikers 1945 2 missing big cap

I got a Strikers 1945 III, essentially the same, and it has a cap with specs:
2200uF 25V , 85 degrees C, diameter is about 16.5mm and height 25mm. For posterity, the manufacturer is TOSHIN KOGYO (TK).

You can replace it with a part that has higher temperature and voltage rating.

Good job! Out of curiosity and future reference, what type of diode was it?

Way to resurrect :)

This is a logic analyzer capture from the tekken 3 PCB, as it has some interesting things going on during vertical sync that is relevant to a project I'm working on.

15K only I'm afraid..

Re: Retro Scaler - call for input

Currently there are 2 inputs channels 1 - high voltage RGB (VGA connector) 2 - low voltage RGB (VGA connector #2, mini din 8) on the next proto there is actually an analog pass-through, but only for the physical high voltage rgb port. Rationale is a setup like this: naomi/type-x or sys256 ->vga cabl...

Re: Retro Scaler - call for input

what about adding a header for 15khz RGB signals? then one could make an adapter and connect scart devices for example... even home computers or whatever else is 15k That is the idea with the mini-din-8, so you can just get something like this: https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/micomsoft-xrgb/eur...

Re: Retro Scaler - call for input

It's line based - so lag is zero. I don't think I'll treat interlaced video in any special fashion, at least not at first. I tried mr.Driller (g or 2?) which is interlaced, and it looks about the same as the xrgb2.

Re: Retro Scaler - call for input

The PCB in my scaler is 4 layer, which is way more expensive than 'normal hobby projects' that use 2 layer - so I need to keep it as small as possible, and the SCART connector is simply too big. Also - the main focus of this scaler is Jamma -> 31k CRT. For it to be usable with the Namco/Konami JVS2J...

Retro Scaler - call for input

Hi, I'm working on a line-based upscaler primarily for arcade cabinets. I have a working proto-type, and the picture quality for 15k->31k is really good I think, and meets my goal of "as good or better than the xrgb2". Working on the second prototype, and thought I'd ask if anyone got any ...

Hard to say, not massive I think - and I would be surprised if it's more than a 100, and unless some person finds personal interest in spamming the wiki with no relevance just because it's a "datasheet" I think it should be very manageable.

Re: Forum questions, suggestions and bugs.

Upload them. If any requests for copyright removal come along we can remove them. Space is a concern but that is for us to worry about when it becomes low. Try and keep it on topic though. We don't need data sheets for chips, but game schematics are good. Can we reconsider? I want to move all the s...

I'm working on a thingy that goes from USB controllers to JVS. Uses the USB inputs on a raspberry and the add-on board speaks with the game. The core software is pretty much done and works well. Here it is connected to a raspberry zero: IMG_0055.JPG And a raspberry 3: IMG_0205.JPG Unfortunately, rev...

Re: Mortal Kombat III to NBA Hangtime conversion

The games are locked to the security chip in U64, but it's not much of a security scheme - and it's just a few instructions to bypass it.
