Re: Are all capacitors the same

if you are replacing motherboard or power supply caps then you should consider low esr caps,if its a monitor then standard 105 caps are fine

Re: 29E31S in F355 Challenge 2 MultiMonitor Dim/Dark Picture

do you have an inductance meter?
that would prove what yokes are on these new tubes,i have seen this tube number used on ms9-29 chassis and that is 0.300mh-that in theory should run the es31 ok

Re: 29E31S in F355 Challenge 2 MultiMonitor Dim/Dark Picture

do you mean the sanwa chassos the nanao tube is producing this picture?
it would be an issue as deflection yoke tolerances are very different-you would need to swap the deflection yokes

Re: 29E31S in F355 Challenge 2 MultiMonitor Dim/Dark Picture

deflection yoke is different,es31 uses a 0.300mh yoke whereas the nanao ms293x use a 0.195mh yoke
you could try it for a few mins to see what the picture looks like and then swap the yokes-although then you would need to set the convergence etc

yes it could be a weak crt-extremely common with these tubes

that discolouration and the small amount of convergence issue points towards the rings being out of alignment

Re: Repairing MS8-29FSG

your previous photo did not show that but yes judging from this photo you have connected the bulb to the primary side
so your regulation circuit is not working

Re: Repairing MS8-29FSG

that cap is in sync circuit I believe so don't worry about that yet

solder the bulb to the primary side of the fuse holder-if you have removed the fuse and then added the bulb further into the circuit then the regulation circuit will not have any load

Re: Repairing MS8-29FSG

take the fuse out and attach the bulb there-then meter the voltage
