At least the JP version supports 480p.

If I remember my ps3 coding right, all (NTSC) games are required to. =P

Re: Dead Namco system 246

I've replied to one of your many threads on the i-nets (and you didn't reply back). :awe: Until the 246 is booted the DVD drive will not respond, If your system can't boot the dongle then changing out the drive will do absolutely nothing. It sounds like you have a bad unit or again you're missing th...

Re: HDD problems with Taiko no Tatsujin 12 (Taiko Drum Maste

Has anyone figured out how to clone a drive for use in Battle Gear 3? I have a twin player arcade machine and one of the drives started acting up. Prior to reading this thread, I mounted the drive to a windows pc and tried to clone the working drive from the second player. Now I've screwed up both ...

Re: Tekken 4 runs sluggish

Quick question. What is the make and model of your DVD drive? I really do think the issue is DVD drive more then anything else. Tekken 4 is one of the early games that are very picky when it comes to DVD drives, most of these "picky" drive games are even not sys256 compatible. Try asking t...

Re: Tekken 4 runs sluggish

Might be your DVD drive. I've had the music stall out in the game due to it not liking my DVD drive. Soul Calibur is a less picky game then Tekken 4 and some other early games. =( It being a version B2 shouldn't have anything to do with it. Yet on that front I recommend you get a version D dongle. Me? Nope. I kind of got a bit side tracked. Still not sure what is the proper wiring for that plug. =(

Quick question. Have any of you guys with a 369 tried popping in Tekken 6 or any 357 game to see if it's compatible?

Thanks for the info. Will check those out tomorrow.

Hope I don't have to do a cap kit (not sure when i'll find the time for such an undertaking). =(

Cap Impress - 3D darkness

This seems very random but on my capcom impress i'm noticing odd issues where text/2d on screen is bright but the 3D stuff in the background is really really dark (almost hard to see). Also in the configuration screen for cross hatch the center is ok but around the edges the red/blue don't seem to m...

Re: SYSTEM246 DEAD

Edit: wow I see it now on the corner, right under the metal cage. My set doesn't have that battery. =) Yeah it's a bit hidden (not my picture, if I could find my old RR5 pictures I have a clearer picture of a simular pcb). Anyways that pcb only exist on rack A units (*) and some really old (rare) e...

Re: SYSTEM246 DEAD

So you replaced the battery on the underside of the unit (on the namco pcb). I still don't think that should kill it as others have changed it with out issue. Have you tried what was suggested and plug a PS2/PS3 video cable directly into the ps2 pcb and to a tv to see what it logs? Also if you don't...

Re: SYSTEM246 DEAD

So what 3 batteries did you replace? I can only think of possibly 2 (one on the ps2 board, the one on the underside namco board), I know rack A units have an extra ram(?) interface pcb that can have a battery on it but most B racks don't have this (BR3 pcb http://www.libblerabble.com/images/arcade/V...

Re: Namco System 357 help

Interesting info. Raises my chances of eventually getting a 369 now that TT2U is dropping to a more reasonable price. But..... I do know a Contact At Namco you can talk to so that you can have a Namco System 369 connected to the U.S. version of ALL.NET. But you have to pay a monthly fee plus buy cre...

Re: Namco System 357 help

Have you tried your self? I personally haven't since I don't have a working 357 yet and I hear it's not compatible with Tekken 6 PCBs. I'm guessing you can maybe reroute your IP to appear as if in japan and try that route. I wonder if Extreme Vs requires purchased operator credits like Tekken Tag 2....

Re: System 246 won't boot

Try getting another 246. The dongles might be ok or possibly were dead from the start.

If you keep an eye out loose 246 can sometimes show up for cheap on ebay (like sub $60).

Re: System 246 won't boot

I get the white dot stary screen thing, then it goes to a black screen. Does this mean I need a new DVD drive? I'm running Soulcalibur 2. When you turn it on. Do you hear a tone from the speaker? Does it go "Ding Ding Ding" then stop or does it sound like a scratching error? The system gi...

Re: system 246 battery

Dunno if you already sorted this out but I'd say it needs some basic config after changing the battery. I'm guessing the battery in my 246 is dead because it always reports first boot on start up and all the settings are reset to default. If it does that every time you start the machine then your b...

Re: Inside of a Ridge Racer 5 Box & Discussion on rigging

Nice. No need to disassemble though. There are tons of pictures online of all models (some probably from me in the first place). If you haven't already, check out the link in my sig or the 246/256 page on AO (pretty much comes from my list). I've spend the past [1/2] year(s) trying to document all t...

Maybe. I'll have to do some deep digging on my pc so give me a few days to try hunting it down.
