Re: You've Got Grail

I know it's not Cave, but how about an original Japanese 1st run Namco Puckman pcb?
Set up as a cocktail board (It's halved at the factory.)

It's even got the square reset button still on it :)

Re: 44 pin unknown pcb?

Sega System 1 (315-5102 and 315-5011 are the tells here). Think Choplifter, Wonderboy, Flicky games like that run on this platform. You need to dump one to see what it really is. http://segaretro.org/Sega_System_1

Re: You've Got Grail

Eprom is not original, and i would demand a closeup picture of the bottom left, where the battery was. I see some reflections there but not sure what it is.
There are some custom DDP roms out there, so this could be the reason for the eprom.

Re: Taito F3 Super Cup Finals: Who has a cart?

Ah, i get an idea where the confusion may come from now. The sub board could be thought of as a 'cart' even though it only holds the graphics and sound chips. Program code is still on the board. The warning sticker is for the +5V adjustment knob which is factory adjusted, they warn you not to adjust...

Taito F3 Super Cup Finals: Who has a cart?

Trying to find out if this exists in cart form or not, and if so, which version of the game code is on it. For some reason all the dumps of this game (including one which appears to come from a cart version) have protection in it. This protection relies on NVRAM (like the Bubble Bobble 3 Extra Mode)...

Re: Espgaluda, Espgaluda II, Gun Force Irem (Japanese)

Hehe :)

Can you leave me feedback please? There's a little thumbs up on the top right of my first 'for sale post'. If you do that, it enables me to leave feedback for you as well, and then the world becomes a better place :awe:

Re: WTB: R-Type PCB + R-Type Leo PCB

There's a fugly one up for $400 at shmups, but the edge connector has seen better days, and it's in the USA so maybe a tax hazard.

Re: WTB: R-Type PCB + R-Type Leo PCB

I spent a long time looking(4-5 months), got a boot which has some sprite oddness in the main ship. Bugged me to hell.
Finally converted a MT pcb and this is the way to go after searching months for a real one. It plays exactly the same and the roms are Japanese. Maybe an alternative route to go?

Re: System 32 2p or 4p

It is used on a lot of sega boards.

D.D. Crew
Spiderman
Dark Edge
Arabian Fight

So you might get one of those to borrow the board from, or maybe have one of those to borrow it from. :)

Re: System 32 2p or 4p

Yes, if it has those, they are original roms.

The little board on the bottom right (on top of the rom board) holds a security module, this board is removed when the board is resurrected.

Re: Biomechanical Toy PCB pictures?

Well, those customs are FPGA modules and can be programmed to contain 'whatever' the designers wanted them to contain. So for now my theory about enabling/disabling the encryption with a jumper resistor goes out the door. David's version works in a way so that the encrypted ram read/writes the data ...

Re: Biomechanical Toy PCB pictures?

This is what i did after i put the roms in. But it did not work so i tried to change as much stuff on the pcb as possible to make it look like shou's bio pcb. I used NM27C040Q the same type used on original pcb. The bio pcb picture i was using as a reference has AFN & BFN custom chips but my sq...

Re: System 32 2p or 4p

I picture would show us what we need to know. There's a lot of plastic black mask roms (at least 10) on the original. It could just be missing its 4P board. http://igrekkess.free.fr/blog/media/blogs/igrekkess/arcade/sys32_goldenaxe2_pcb.jpg These conversions popping up is a side effect of the de-sui...

Re: Biomechanical Toy PCB pictures?

Thanks Rodwod, but i have been compiling Mame myself for some time, so it's not really needed at this point :) But, maybe you know, for your tests, did you swap all the proper resistors, including the one near 'F4'? I'm still waiting on 27C040's to do initial tests, and this F4 jumper/resistor is lo...

Re: System 32 2p or 4p

Does the board you are being offered have original Sega labels on the chips, and many mask roms without any label? Many people are converting these now, ever since i made a version that runs without the security board. A pic of the pcb would help. You need the extra board for 4P fun. But i guess nob...

Re: Biomechanical Toy PCB pictures?

My hope at this point is that the code has some 'library' call they use for RAM access, which could be transplanted from say, squash, into BMT. But i need to find some free time to look at the 68k code. Many other projects and real life suck up my free time these days :) As for making money, well, s...
